Should I Fix My Computer Or Buy A New Computer

Should I Fix My Computer Or Buy A New Computer Should I fix my computer or go buy a new computer? Is it worth fixing? Here is a great question! As a tech I get this a lot to say the least. Can’t I get a new one for a couple hundred dollars? All these are questions I hear just about every day with my computer repair West Palm Beach business. All these questions are good questions coming from consumers who are looking to get the most out of their money.

In order to answer that question accurately for you, there are a few things we need to take into consideration and examine. Sometimes the answer is different for the same computer. Here are a few questions we need to answer first.

Should I Fix My Computer Or Buy A New Computer What is wrong with the computerHow much are the repairsWhat are your systems specsWhat programs do you have and do you have the CD for themHow much is your budget to buy a new oneWhat do you use the computer forWhat operating system are you currently usingAre you experiencing any ongoing issues with your current machineWhat are your future plans of useDoes anything with your current system hinder your future plansAll of these questions play a role in determining whether or not you should fix my computer or buy a new computer. By answering them you will basically be able to answer your own question. You can kind of go in order also because you may just be able to stop at the first 2 or 3.

Should I Fix My Computer? The answer to the first should I fix my computer or buy a new computer depends on what is wrong with the computer it may be well worth the expense to fix it. First off let me say this, spyware removal and virus removal is not usually worth buying a new computer over. If your system is running XP and you have DDR RAM, and anything less than a dual core processor, then this may be the only time I would suggest upgrading because of a virus infection. Otherwise you have to understand you may buy a brand new computer and still have to pay for spyware and virus removal.

For all other repairs $200 or under and your system is running at least 1 or 2 GIGs of DDR2 RAM, dual core processor, and a 120 GIG hard drive then you are still in the “fix my computer” range. It is going to cost you at least that much and probably more, for a used replacement and you will not have all your personal info, programs, and settings on that.

Or Buy A New Computer? The next should I fix my computer or buy a new computer question is what is your budget to buy a new computer, and what are you needing it to be able to do for you. We need to establish what you are trully using your computer for. If it is just email, photo sharing, and internet surfing then a replacement is going to be less expensive and maybe worth the upgrade. If you are doing photo editing with Photoshop, design with Illustrator, video editing with Camtasia, or gaming, then this replacement is going to be much more expensive and maybe not worth the upgrade unless you have a budget for it.

If your system is old and you have been having many re occurring issues with it, or you want to do all the following things: upgrade to Windows 7, make it faster by upgrading RAM, and giving yourself some more hard drive space, then you may be able to get a new comparable computer for the same price. These are typical upgrading options that are available to really max out your computer. Weigh the total cost plus the labor and compare it to a similar computer to see if its worth it.

Build A Custom ComputerWhat I always suggest to my compute repair clients is if they want a new computer, then they will get a much better computer if I custom build them one than if they go and get one off the shelf. One thing that really made me upset was when I opened up an Optimized HP gaming system and found cheap parts inside. I could not believe what I was seeing.

To wrap this post up, the answer to the should I fix my computer or buy a new computer question all depends on the situation and the answers to the questions above. I always try to counsel my clients in the direction that best suits their needs. Some tell me they just want to fix the computer because it has some kind of sentimental value to them. So I make suggestions, but do what the client wants me to do.

What To Look For When Buying A PC

It's not necessarily what you think matters when you are in the market for a new laptop. You have to take an overall view of what is going on inside the computer to make sure its worth the money. It is not all about the speed of the processor as much as the other things surrounding the cpu that is the most important to keep an eye on. For example you wont notice slight increases of clock speed on the cpu as much as you will notice the difference in gigs of RAM. The type of cd and bluray payer/burner you have is not going to make much difference anymore either as they are all rated at the higher speeds for the most part. Unless you are a gamer the graphics card that comes with the machine will likely be enough to do what you need it to do. Exceptions...if you are going to use it as a television to watch high definition, or you need it to do graphics and some video editing. Processor cores, RAM and hard disk space are going to be the areas you will want to pay most attention to. Again all of these topics are to be kept in perspective related to what your intended use for the machine is. Laptop batteries are worth the extra money when looking, as well as the size of the screen ans weight.

Norton Removal Tool Will Uninstall Norton Antivirus

ShareNorton Removal Tool Will Completely Uninstall NortonWhat's really going on? It's absolutely amazing to me that you actually need a Norton removal tool to uninstall Norton anti-virus. To me that just proves the fact that there is something fishy going on in a anti-virus world. Why should it be so hard to take something off of your computer that you would need a special pool outside of the Windows programs uninstaller?

Reasons You Need a Norton Removal Tool to Uninstall NortonWindows program remover leaves tracesNorton pieces will still be installed without showing in control panelYou will need a program removal tool like Revo Un-Installer clean up the messUninstall Norton with the Norton Removal Tool

Norton is not the only anti-virus company that requires an un-Installer to remove all traces of its product. I think it clearly shows that there is something going on behind the scenes with these anti-virus programs that you pay for. I removed more viruses from computers that have had paid anti virus programs on them than I can count. I have removed just as many anti-virus installations, especially uninstalling Norton with a Norton removal tool, as I have root kits, worms, Trojans, and viruses off computers.

What's really going on in the anti-virus/virus industry? Is every body's concerns of conspiracy to true? Should we be looking at these paid anti-virus program companies and asking them why their products don't seem to be working so well? Or are we going to continue to waste our money shelling it out even though the product doesn't work?

Download Norton Removal ToolMy suggestion is uninstall Norton and in place of it use a free anti-virus like Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials, the programs that I install all my customers computers. Make sure you use the Norton removal tool found here to remove all traces of Norton anti-virus before you install either of those two free ones.

Remember never run two anti-virus on the same computer at any given time. Never have more than one installation on any computer of any anti-virus at any time. And please stop wasting your money on paid anti-virus programs when the free ones that I mentioned do a better job of preventing infections. Keep in mind there are some situations you will find yourself in that even the best anti-virus program cannot stop an infection. This includes executing or downloading an attachment from an e-mail, and or using peer-to-peer share sites for music, videos, and games. These infections are due to user error and there is no anti-virus that can prevent that. You shouldn't need a computer repair tech to remove an antivirus program.

Norton Removal Tool Will Save You From Headaches In The Future

You can download Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast. Either one you choose after you uninstall Norton using the Norton removal tool you will feel much better about life, and your computer will thank you in the long run.

Virus Removal Malware Removal SpyWare Removal

Removal Malware Removal SpyWare RemovalWhat has become the largest industry in the world beside virus removal, malware removal, and spyware removal? This has become a multi million dollar, if not multi billion dollar industry over the last 10 years. With so many exploiting and hacking Microsoft Windows installations, programmers have found a way to capitalize off Bill Gates fortune.

Virus Removal Malware Removal Spyware Removal ConsipracyIf you knew anything about computer repair, and had studied technology in the past....then you know there was a time in history many people got rich buying domain names when the internet was launched. Over the course of that historical occurrence programmers have invented problems for computer users forcing them to get virus removal, malware removal, and spyware removal. This has spawned an era of antivirus craze just like the swine flu did.

By creating these infections in computers, and placing them in areas online where people shouldn’t be going any ways, they have created a tremendous market for themselves. It kind of reminds me of Flash Gordon when he had to stick his hand in the holes to see whether or not he would get bit by the poison monster that kills all who get it. This epidemic is a money funnel for those in the industry.

Virus Removal Malware Removal SpyWare Removal Infections WormsTrojansMalwareVirusSpywareRootkitsBackdoorHijacksThis whole era of computer virus mimics the flu that goes around for us humans. We are supposed to get, or have been trained to get flu shots every year to prevent from becoming sick. We buy antivirus nowadays to put on our computers with the hopes of doing the same thing. Then when we get sick we have to go to the doctors to get antibiotics. So scary the relevance there. Virus removal, malware removal, and spyware removal have come to support many families in the US. There is a nation of PC MD's, some who are licensed and some who are not……don’t get me started on that subject though!!

So what are we supposed to do about this? Well when it comes to virus removal, malware removal, and spyware removal it is always best to let the professionals take care of your issues. There are so many collateral damages that can be had from these infections. If you want to keep your programs and data (which is possible 98% of the time) then you need to ask the tech before you hire them if they will reformat or factory restore your computer in order to fix. Most will plan to do this and you wont know the difference until you have to reinstall all your programs and you don’t have the disks.

Virus Removal, Malware Removal, And Spyware Removal ProsSo to start, stop paying for antivirus that is free otherwise, and the free versions work better than the paid. See my blog post here for some suggestions on which ones to use. Also here is a video on how to change your paid antivirus to free.
Spyware Removal 101 Explained

One type of annoying and destructive malware that is being installed on computers, adding to the epidemic of spyware removal and computer disease is spyware. Spyware will acquire your information here and there without you knowing it. You more than likely will not notice any changes for a while, hence the term Spyware. Yes, it can also be implemented intentionally by network administrators for the purposes of keeping an eye on you.

The personal information which is stored on your computer when you check the boxes in your browsers to remember username and passwords, as well as other types of information (like credit card numbers and financial info) is sought after by the malicious kinds of infection. Browser redirects, additional software installations, slow connections, change of homepage, loss of internet connection or normal functions of other programs are symptoms of spyware, and sure indicators it is spyware removal time.Adware is software with the annoying ads that pop up without your discretion. Some adware is not necessarily spyware as it is simply marketing software, doesn’t so much mislead the user, and doesn not warrant the use of spyware removal tools. However, computer repair pros know most adware is spyware as it will show things related to the information found on the users pc. It is very close in nature to viruses and are mostly known as malicious intended programs. The Anti-Spyware Coalition was developed to design standards for software design as many companies who have abused the spyware model in using it for advertising data gathering, and combining them with legitimate client sharing softwares.

Spyware doesn’t usually multiply or reproduce itself like worms and viruses, however it does exploit pcs for commercial gain the same. It does this in many forms including causing the need to purchase spyware removal programs. Worms can deliver spyware in their quest to burrow and replicate on a users computer. Most of the time spyware is installed without your knowledge, piggybacking other programs or presenting themselves as security software (something that will be useful like spyware removal programs). Software writers have been paid to slipstream and bundle spyware with their programs. (yes the conspiracy theory is true). Others enter in through holes in web browsers or other software (mostly Internet Explorer sometimes in the form of browser helps).

If you need spyware removal, chances are super good you have other infections. Connection to the internet, system and application freezes, crashes, and boot failures indicate there is major infections on your computer. These results of infection may appear to be related to faulty hardware and operating system problems. There is spyware that will disable your firewarlls and antivirus software allowing more parasites to enter unknown until your computer drags like a dead turtle.

When you are victim of multiple attacks and infections, you are definitely going to end up doing two or three things. Either you will go an buy another computer, which is absolutely rediculous I must add. You will try spyware removal yourself … if you have access to the harddrive and the computer boots up (which I do not recommend this choice either because you will ultimately end up reformatting your drive and losing all your data). Third, you will do the smart thing for malware removal and call a pro like Computer Doctors to perform professional spyware removal service on your computer and preserve your data and programs.

Ultimate Super Spyware Removal ToolThere is no such thing as one spyware removal program that will remove and clean every spyware infection on your computer along with the other disease. I run a compilation of spyware removal programs every time I clean a clients computer. Each one I run finds more the one before it didn’t find. One of the problems is when you run your program, and you see it find some and remove them you think all is well. Your system may run better, and seem to be fine, however you can rest assured there is probably still spyware or other things on your computer. A computer repair West Palm Beach professional knows how to make sure you are clean. A certified tech will always give you a warranty also, usually 14 days or so on spyware removal.
